The Unapologetic Mexican did a great job putting together a memorial to the fall of Tenochtitlán, which, as the memorial at Tlatelolco reads in Spanish and Nahuatl -- neither a triumph or a tragedy, but the birth-pangs of the Mexican people.

That's me next to Rutherford B. Hayes and Warren G. Harding. The photo was taken in Houston, which despite once being part of Mexico, has its own weirdness. I recently returned to another Texas... the Big Bend, with one person per square mile -- when I get over the culture shock, I'll let you know.
